I know some things won’t change in 2016, like my lovely and equally hilarious friendship with this girl. Can’t wait to cry a lot with you at recital, Brett!

  1. My last semester in high school. As excited as I am to be done with high school (see #3) I am committed to making the most of this last semester, and enjoying the many ‘Lasts’ of my senior year: last basketball game, last prom, last pep rally, last AP Exam (just kidding—there is nothing I will miss about those).

  2. I turn 18 this year, which means I also get to vote in the upcoming presidential election! If that doesn’t make you feel important then I don’t know what will!

  3. Graduation. I think every senior has that point when they’re ready to get out of high school. I hit that point about five months ago. So here’s to graduation, and the beginning of a new chapter.

  4. My senior dance recital. I did not know the true definition of bittersweet until the first time it truly hit me that this recital would be my last. I have grown up at Hart in every sense of the phrase, and I’ve found a family there. I am beyond ecstatic for recital and the fun that weekend brings, but I am willing to put off the final bows. There will be lots of tears (as if there already hasn’t been).

  5. Summer. I have a very good feeling about summer 2016, and not just because I no longer have to wake up for 6 am practice. I think this summer will be dedicated to making memories and stories before my friends and I all go our separate paths.

  6. Fresh starts. As most people know, I announced that this fall I would be attending Texas Christian University. This probably isn’t very surprising, but I am beyond excited! I get to learn so many new things, and meet new people, and try new things. I get a fresh start, and the chance to make college what I want.

  7. College classes (we’ll see if I still feel this way in a year). I love learning. The fact soon I will get to go take classes like “TV Studies” or classes relevant to my major is so exciting to me!

  8. The many, many football games I will get to watch this year.

  9. In 2015, I began the very exciting journey of becoming a Launch volunteer staffer. I have so much love for this organization. I can’t wait to see what I achieve this year, what my fellow staffers achieve this year, and what Launch achieves this year.

  10. I’m very excited to see the change in myself in this next year. 2015 has been the most educational year yet for me, both good and bad, and I can only imagine what 2016 will teach me.

  11. The many potential Dallas Stars hockey games I will get to watch when I head down to DFW.

  12. Oh, Hailey. This blog has been a constant learning experience, and a thoroughly fun ride, and I have a feeling it’s only going to grow and improve in 2016.

  13. New people. I love people, and who knows whom I’m going meet in 2016! Hopefully JJ Watt and/or Jamie Benn are some of those new people, but I’m not picky!

  14. Winter in Texas. I don’t think that needs further explanation.

  15. I don’t want to forget about the amazing people already in my life. I can’t wait to see how my already standing friendships and relationships blossom and grow and change.

  16. My faith. Every day, my relationship with Christ changes and I can’t imagine the plans God has in store for me. My faith will be tested, of course, but it will continue to grow. Maybe a missions trip will be in store, maybe I’ll become a YoungLife leader. Thank goodness God knows my plans, because I sure don’t sometimes!

“We plan the way we want to live, but only GOD makes us able to live it.” // Proverbs 16:9
